Chapter Fourteen

Melody had never felt this bold. This empowered. As if her wolf truly was on the verge of breaking free and only needed a nudge to release its bonds. She wanted to feel Ash’s body against hers, skin to skin, to follow through on what could only be her wolf telling her what it wanted.

Ash swiped his tongue between her lips, sending chills across her entire body. She wrapped both hands over his shoulders and pulled herself closer.

He crushed her against him. His muscles felt like a wall of heated stone as his hands slipped down to cup her ass, grinding her against his very obvious arousal.

She relaxed, letting the moment carry them where it would. His kisses were making her feel delightfully woozy, drunk even. She’d love a bath, but if they ended up dropping to the floor and doing it in a frenzy on the tile, she certainly wouldn’t mind. Ash had seemed frightening at first, but as she’d come to know him, she no longer feared him. He had a way of making her feel cherished and protected. She trusted him.

After a long moment, he pulled away. “I’m sorry. You wanted a bath.”

“Screw the bath,” she said, her voice husky with desire.

“I don’t want to screw the bath.” The light dancing behind his eyes made her giggle.

“Me either. But I would like to be clean.” She dropped her hands from his neck and grabbed the hem of her shirt, pulling it up and over her head before eyeing the few inches of water in the tub. “The tub is huge. Filling it’s going to take forever.”

“Doesn’t matter. Get in.” He pulled his own shirt over his head and dropped his pants. The boxer briefs he wore strained over his erection.

Shyly, she stepped out of her jeans, self-conscious about her swollen middle, then turned around to strip out of her underthings. She felt his hands feather over her shoulders, and his breath heated the back of her neck as he steered her toward the tub.

She lowered herself into the huge basin, the shallow water warm as it lapped against her skin. Keeping her knees drawn up, she faced Ash.

He was naked now, and his shaft jutted from between his legs in a way that made her insides pulse with need. He was as long and thick as she’d imagined, and she knew her eyes must be round as twin moons as she dragged her attention to his face.

He didn’t meet her eyes, stepping over the edge to join her and dropping to his knees. His gaze was riveted on where she hugged her knees. Slowly, he eased her hands free, fingers circling her wrists.

She kept her legs clamped together, a moment of hesitation washing over her. He’d asked for permission, but if she changed her mind now, would he stop? A part of her wanted to test it, to see if he was as trustworthy as she imagined.

The other part was terrified of his reaction if she did.
